I find the suggestion on Pinterest interesting:
MAXIMIZE YOUR PRODUCTIVITY WITH A NEW DAY-PLANNING TEMPLATE.
As if the absence of the right template is ever an issue.
As if once you have this or that template, your productivity will suddenly increase.
I think it is a beautiful dream and an awfully deceiving lie they are selling us. Turns out all you needed this whole time (all your wasted years) was the right template. Now that you have the template (course, class, system, etc.), you will do everything you’ve always wanted, achieve everything you’ve needed and by and by have a personality transplant.
Don’t get me wrong, I love a good set of stationery as much as the next guy. I find it satisfying to write my daily to-do lists and tick things off. It is soothing, it makes me think like I am onto something, even if the day does not go as planned (it rarely does).
But it is not the template that makes me productive. It is God.
It won’t be helpful to you if you don’t know God, if you don’t walk with God, if you have not experienced God.
That’s the thing about God, He is an answer to everything and anything, but that answer within one’s life is so individualised, so tailored that no number of Bibles will be able to describe all the unique ways God has come through for people.
When I say God is the reason behind my productivity, I mean it. But what do I mean by it I struggle to put into words in a way that a reader or passerby would understand. You’ve got to experience it for yourself. There is no way around, only through. Just like there is no magic template for your productivity, you just have to do the work.
