Love is not loud, but it sure is not apologetic.

Love has been defined by so many, and never fully perceived and dare I say - felt?

Even the fringes of love make us excited. But what are we truly excited for? The feeling? The thought?

The chemistry? Or are we willing to go to the depths of love when it is self-sacrificial? When it desires not its own. Uuuugh, we pull away from that kind of love. Losing oneself for another person who is likely to be ungrateful and, in the end, take us for granted? Nope.

So, we are dancing with love, coming close and pulling away so we can keep ourselves all tucked in and safe. Safe for the future.

God does not love this way. God never loved this way.

God gave it all and asked to be loved back.

Loving God is hard, but loving God may appear easier? This love will not be betrayed, taken advantage of, stamped on, not by the receiver anyway. It will always be reciprocated in a thousandfold, in cascades, in ways we will never fully comprehend. Loving God is not easier, but you are safe to love him.

With people. Well… you know your heart, so you know the answer. Would you love you? Would that be safe?

God does. As unsafe as it is, he loves you the way all of us want to be loved. Ah, I would be jealous of you if I were not the firsthand receiver of this love myself.

How can you deny? How can you decline then the love of God? Why would you turn around and say: no, thanks, this kind of love isn’t for me. Too good.

It is there. It is there for you. There for the taking. Not even taking, you don’t need to take anything. Just accept, acknowledge. Over and over again. Every time you feel lost, rejected, unwanted, frustrated, tired and hopeless. Renew your knowledge in the love that is being poured out over you, poured into you.
